Strategic Plan

Our Purpose:

To further develop the academic, cognitive and social skills of our students, so that they may maximise their full potential, enjoy a full range of academic, social and cultural activities and participate as responsible members of both society and their school.

Our Mission:

We endeavour to provide a safe and enriched learning environment that empowers all children to learn to the best of their ability. We believe in commitment, responsibility, respect and cooperation between teachers, students, parents and the community. This aims to prepare all students for an ever changing society.

Our Beliefs about Teaching and Learning

Opportunities to Learn: This is achieved through a classroom that provides a positive, non-threatening, child centred environment; one which includes values, safety, respect and responsibility.

A Stimulating, Collaborative Learning Environment: Where all children are given opportunities to achieve their individual potential. This will occur with individual’s needs being met through the provision of a stimulating, collaborative, child centred, inclusive learning environment.

Positive Attitudes: Are promoted amongst students when they are challenged and motivated by open ended tasks involving hands on, stimulating and collaborative learning.

Provision for Multiple Learning Styles: Teaching strategies and approaches will cater for the children’s varied individual needs and learning styles.

Goal setting, Evaluation, Reflection: An ongoing, regular activity in which members of the school population engage.

Learning: We have a positive approach to learning and encourage it in others; we advance students’ learning based on our belief that all students have the capacity to learn.

Excellence: We have high expectations of our students and ourselves. We set standards of excellence and strive to achieve them. The standards and expectations challenge all of us to give of our best.

Equity: Recognition of the differing circumstances and needs of all students and dedication to achieving the best possible outcomes for all; ensuring all workplaces and learning environments are safe, free of discrimination, abuse or exploitation.

Care: Treatment of all individuals with care – relationships based on trust, mutual respect and the acceptance of responsibility; recognition of the value of working in partnership with students and the wider community in providing world-class education and training for all.
